Scalable Carbon Flux Monitoring with Next Generation Eddy Covariance

Researchers require scalable, accurate, and reliable solutions for quantifying the exchange of carbon dioxide over ecosystems. These solutions must be simple to install and maintain, and provide the end-user with fully post-processed fluxes, to inform understanding about the functioning of the ecosystem and management decisions.

The Carbon Node from LI-COR represents a combined hardware and software solution, in the form of the LI-720 Carbon Flux Sensor, Internet of the Environment (IoE) Module, and cloud-based post-processing engine within LI-COR Cloud, to enable measurements of carbon dioxide fluxes in a more scalable way than ever before. This webinar provides an overview of the hardware components of the Carbon Node, including a deep-dive on the LI-720 Carbon Flux Sensor with integrated carbon dioxide and water vapor gas analyzer, co-located vertical wind speed measurements, integrated photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) sensor, air temperature sensor, relative humidity, and barometric pressure sensors, as well as integrated flux processing and horizontal wind speed measurements. There will also be an overview of the automated data analytics to be provided to users via LI-COR Cloud, to include derived parameters such as cleaned carbon dioxide flux (FCO2), gap filled and accumulated FCO2, and FCO2 footprints.
