The new LI-8100 Automated Soil CO2 Flux System from LI-COR Biosciences is the first automated system designed solely for measurement of soil CO2 flux, and features interchangeable chambers that allow for both short-term survey and long-term, unattended measurements.
The innovative LI-8100 chambers are designed for accurate CO2 flux measurements, with minimum alteration of the soil’s microclimate. Both the survey and long-term chambers close automatically for more uniform measurements, yet the system is flexible enough to allow for customized measurement protocols.
At the heart of the LI-8100 is the Analyzer Control Unit, which houses the infrared gas analyzer used to measure the change in CO2 and H2O concentrations in the soil chamber. The Auxiliary Sensor Interface allows for connection of your choice of sensors; all sensor inputs become an integral part of the data set.
Data are logged to a PC, stored in the instrument’s flash memory, or stored to compact flash cards. LI-8100 setup and monitoring functions can also be performed via wireless communication with a PDA. Windows® and Palm interface software, along with data analysis software for post-processing, are included.
LI-COR Biosciences is a leader in the design and manufacture of instrument systems for plant biology, biotechnology, and environmental research. LI-COR instruments for photosynthesis, carbon dioxide analysis and light measurement are recognized worldwide for standard-setting innovation in plant science research and environmental monitoring. The company pioneered the development of infrared fluorescence labeling and detection systems for proteomic and genomic research.
Founded in 1971, the privately held company is based in Lincoln, Nebraska, with subsidiaries in Germany and the United Kingdom. LI-COR systems are used in more than 100 countries and are supported by a global network of distributors.
