New Research on Equalizing Pressures Between A Soil CO₂ Flux Chamber and the Ambient Air Under Windy Conditions Presented at EGU Annual Meeting

Wind can cause negative pressure excursions in vented chambers, which can lead to large over-estimates of soil CO₂ flux. Now a new pressure vent design from LI-COR Biosciences virtually eliminates chamber pressure differentials between the chamber and ambient air over a wide range of wind speeds. LI-COR presented research on the new pressure vent design at the April 2005 meeting of the European Geosciences Union in Vienna, Austria.
